Why is one of our Speed To Market principles this?

“Feedback is the answer to building momentum?”

Because feedback from people who represent your ideal clients will provide you exactly what they are looking for.

Never assume what your target market wants.

Never do what I just received in my inbox…the promise of a ‘business in a box’ and how I can purchase one of these for well under $100.Cat Crap

If you are not passionate about what you do, having someone hand you or me a business in a box is a recipe for disaster.

Would you value a car that you only had to pay $20 for? (Especially, if the gas cost more to fill it up than the price of the actual vehicle!!!)

Of course you wouldn’t!

And it is because of this kind of crap I see everyday I am speaking out more forcefully so you move forward quickly and do NOT get tricked. (You will definitely not get a treat!–It is October 31!)

Last week I presented you with the following 19.83 second dilemma.

What struck me the most are a few thoughts I want to share with you right now.

1. First of all, I want to sincerely thank you for you feedback.

2. The statistics stayed the same after the first hundred people jumped on this within the first 30 minutes all the way through this past week. In other words, after hundreds and hundreds of survey completions the stats have stayed amazingly consistent. Here are the stats based on what people wanted more help with:

1) Writing Your Book - 31%

2) Building Your Business - 23%

3) Building Your Business Using Your Book - 46%

3. Based on the feedback, I am going to be shifting the focus of our company. Of course we will always provide what got us recognized by Adobe Corp., BookSurge, Amazon.com et cetera–our entrepreneurial authoring program with its promise of Instant Access to a New York Publisher, and daily assistance in the most labour intensive mentoring program today.

The focus will be centered on rapid business execution using the same principles that I used to launch myself out of my job in record time. Most importantly I will be focusing on how to position yourself instantly to build your business backend quickly. This will be done in the context of meeting the thousands of real people that I have helped–ordinary people just like you!

4. Fourthly I have enjoyed speaking to each of you who have taken me up on a 15 minute consult. Only those who participated had this option. I am slowly working my way through each of you over the course of the next several weeks.

One thing that I noted after these consults (all consulations with me are taped and each entrepreneur gets the recording as an MP3 sent to you from my office) is this: there are two groups of people I spoke with. Most are very open about their business struggles and we had a very candid conversation about their next steps.

And then there is the second group. This small group wasted both their time and mine. And it wasn’t because I didn’t like speaking with them. It is because their lives are a facade. There is nothing sadder to me then to see people bluffing their way through life, who are not only NOT honest with me, but most importantly they are NOT honest with themselves. This is a certain recipe for failure in business. Guaranteed. Enough said.

It saddens me to meet so many great people as I travel the world who have a hope of a dream that they desperately cling to, yet ‘play scared’ to really go for it.

A Very Personal Response To A PlayBoy Mansion Invitation

WARNING: This blog post is a personal response from another PlayBoy Mansion invitation I just received. And it ties directly into counter-intuitive business principle #4.

The secret to wealth in the Recommendation Age is in becoming a Knowledge Broker.

Brokering knowledge presupposes you have demonstrated your own expertise in solving a specific problem or set of related problems to a hungry market.

In our last post, I shared with you the difference between expertise and mastery and that the secret to wealth is mastering (ha ha) mastery which is lies at the heart of your business funnel.

Speed To Market Principle: The secret to wealth is going deep on a business idea. “Going deep” involves the following five concepts:

1. Building a business around your passion/expertise so that you never have to sell.

2. Creating the correct business systems to facilitate #1. The Expert Positioner Software is the first place to start as it builds out your proper positioning in the market place.

3. Driving your idea clients into your highest end programs immediately using the power of Milgram’s Law and Zipf’s Law.

4. Using your own cash flow to leverage your own business growth.

5. And finally, leveraging the power of Zipf’s Law in an ethical way by brokering solutions to other problems that your clients have. The key here is that you do not have to fulfill, you merely broker the deal.

Speed To Market Definition: An information broker is someone who brings efficiency to the market place by connecting a problem that a client has to a solution that someone else provides. The key is that you are positioned as the only gatekeeper to the solution provider.

The power of brokering is build on trust.

That leads me to a few personal thoughts around trust and another invitation that I received this past week.

In fact, it has happened for the second time.

I was invited to the PlayBoy Mansion.

Now, this might be more germane to men, but women please note a few personal comments.

Why should I go? Yes, there will be some big name entrepreneurs there…BUT…?

Let’s consider what going to the PlayBoy Mansion would do for me.

Yes, I would see some eye candy. But it would be superficial eye candy, compared to what really would happen.

The PlayBoy Mansion is really a fantasy land. It exists to fool people into thinking they are really living. And it would trick me into believing that too—for a fleeting moment.

But then reality would kick in and I would see that that fleeting moment has done more than leading me away from my legacy, it will have left me disconnected from the real Glenn Dietzel.

And that is what was killing me for so many years, leading a façade of a life.

It’s what is robbing each of us each day—living lives where instead of putting value into the world, we live off the dividends limited thinking.

For me the PlayBoy Mansion symbolizes what was happening to me for so many years when I was a Vice Principal. I was living someone else’s dream. I was going for what I thought would bring me happiness in my career. I was chasing bright, shiny objects at the expense of going for my own legacy.

Here are a few simple questions I ask myself to check how I should spend my time:

1. Does the activity produce a greater sense of fulfillment in my life, both personally and in the context of my family?

2. If I were lying on my death bed, would I have the three most significant people in my life remembering the activity from the standpoint of legacy-building?

3. Does the activity lead to increased freedom or does it act like a double-edged sword—short term fun at the expense of long term pain?

4. Does the activity naturally induce freedom within me—does it bring me a greater sense of peace during the most difficult times of my life, or does it facilitate the increased likelihood that I will move toward ‘escaping’ behaviors during the most difficult situations and times in my life.

5. Does the activity fundamentally lead me into a greater understanding that life has purpose and that this purpose is tied fundamentally into involving my life with others at a deep level of inspiration?

Remember, the strength of brokering information in the Recommendation Age begins first with this concept. You must broker your dream back to yourself first. And you must do this from the context of brokering your dream from the negative story that we all have of ourselves to the story about why we deserve success.

Before I move into the third and fourth business niche gaps to help you think clearly as you are writing a book or building your business back end, I have included a diagram to demonstrate these two important gaps and what you need to know as the Thought Leader of you specific niche market.

Results are what your ideal clients are after. Use these four market gaps to position your expertise/passion to compel your ideal clients to choose your for a life time within these four areas!

The third writing a book/business niche gap that exists in the market place is to do with expertise. Expertise is more knowledge based. It is the system that you use to solve problems. It is your system. It is based on your self reflection.

Expertise is based on the accumulation of knowledge and NOT information. Today you are not paid to deliver more data, or process facts and figures. You are paid to solve specific problems that require your ability to analyze and synthesize what you have gleaned from your experiences.

NOTE the following important definition:

Knowledge = Information + Experiences

Your ideal clients want your experiences. And they want your experiences systematized so your help literally reads like a specific procedure within a company policy.

Remember…your ideal clients are really interested in a personal relationship with you (they want a person to believe in) and they want your ability to self reflect (they want your mind!).

Fyi…Policies reflect the philosophy of a company; procedures on the other hand provide the step by step solution to individual problems that the company solves or how the company manages its internal productivity and efficiency.

Speed To Market Business Niche Principle: You must tie your expertise and passion to a hungry business niche market with deep pockets where you can leverage Zipf’s Law (Your ideal clients want to crave a relationship with you.) as you are writing a book.

Speed To Market Business Niche Principle: The Recommendation Age rewards the Thought Leader. Thought Leaders are masters at building content within the proper context.

Now what do I mean by this?

This leads to the fourth writing a book/business niche gap that exists in the market place and in a way it is the most important for it is here where the real secret to wealth exists.

The fourth gap is the area of mastery. Mastery is different than expertise in this one important component.

Before I share with you this, it is important to remember that all learning/teaching is really the communication of attitudes, skills and knowledge (Just ASK™ as we say in our book, Author And Get Rich). The latter (knowledge) is the area of expertise. The former two (attitudes and skills) are where the real wealth exists. Mastery is demonstrated by sharing your system of developing mindset and the specific skills to solve problems.

NOTE: Expertise needs to be stressed at the top of your business funnel. The best way to do this is as an author. Remember this important Speed To Market concept:

Speed To Market Business Niche Principle: A person’s quick perception of you is their reality.

So if expertise is found at the top of your business funnel, mastery is found at the bottom.

Refer to the diagram at the top of this blog post.

The real secret to wealth lies at the bottom of your funnel where clients invest to work with you personally to reap the rewards of engaging your mastery. Clients don’t just want knowledge (expertise). What they really need help with is contextualizing or applying that knowledge to their specific situations (mastery).

Now, what I am going to share with you has never been revealed before.

So sharpen your pen and write this down right now!

Speed To Market Business Niche Principle: The Secret To Wealth Is Mastery. The Secret To Viral Mastery Is In Creating Your Own Software.

Your mastery is best demonstrated when you create software.

Now, do I advocate that you begin by creating software?
